ABOUT US         
Ngee Ann Polytechnic Students' Sports Council was formed in the Year 1994 with the objective to bond and introduce the CCAs Club,
and to promote as well as introduce all kinds of sports activities in NP.
The Students' Sports Council Committee is currently into its 18th year running for 2011/2012.
Students' Sports Council is zestful about fostering bonds that last a lifetime, introducing as well as promoting all sorts of sports activities that could very well excite the inner sportsman within. Our committee is bunch of enthusiastic, highly energized and caring special group of individuals. We also strongly believe in the meaning of playing hard and giving our best in all that we do, all in the name of fun. We organize several activities throughout the year such as Interactive Day, Polympics, and even Sports Camp for prospective freshmen. Students' Sports Council annually organizes Sports Camp, a major event that involves different clubs coming together, to expose the freshmen to as many CCAs as possible. In addition to that, it is also a great way for the freshmen to widen their circle of friends and familiarize themselves with the school environment before school starts. With a wide variety of activities offered, there's bound to be something for everyone! |
SPORTS CAMP 12/13 
Sports Camp is the only sports oriented camp in Ngee Ann Polytechnic! We provide you first hand experience with different sports such as Dragonboat, Archery, Fencing, Canoe Polo, MuayThai, Touch Rugby and many more. Besides offering you such endless array of sporting experiences and challenges, we get you ready for school as well. Opportunities for you to familiarize your way around school and making new awesome friends will provide you the best headstart for your poly life! •Swimming Attire Here are some guidelines according to the NP Swimming pool regulations MALE -Topless -Shorts not passing the knee -Black/NAVY(DARK) blue -Trunks -Wet suits FEMALES -Bikinis -Shorts not passing the knee -Black/NAVY(DARK) blue -Sports Shorts -Sports Bra -Wet Suits with much regret the usual attire of have a shirt over for females is prohibited according to the new regulations. • President of SSC CGLs and GLs of SSC Sports camp listen up! This is the first time i am blogging because i think its time for me to step into this issue. We choose the CGLs for a reason, not because they got better leadership than the GLs. We choose them for a reason that i don't think we need to tell you. I agreed that some GLs got more experience and better leadership qualities than the CGLs but if you are unhappy about anything, please do not post it in the blog and create havoc! If you have any problems, you can always talk to the person face to face if not, you can always tell me, Syafi, or anyone in the committee, and settle the problem maturely. Why must you tag it and let every know about your unhappiness? If anyone were to blog about that issue again, as the president of SSC, will not hesitate to take away your post as a GL or CGL. •Guys, Grow up. I would like to clarify some stuff here. CGLs had meetings because they are asked to do certain things and you guys should be grateful to them. I would like to clear that at no point of time, your CGLs will organise meetings without valid reasons. How many of you out there will take your usual time out when you are going to have exams the coming week, yet you still have to do something totally out of your normal schedule? Some would say yes i can, does that mean i can be CGLs? Well, no we choose certain people for reasons and if you're unhappy about it, talk to that person and tell him/her how he/she can improve on his/her leadership skill or how he/she have cause you to be unhappy. Who knows, you might be the one in the wrong from the start. I believe everyone he/she are more than willing to learn, explain and improve. if YOU who didn't try talking to him/her start jumping into conclusions, there you are being all so self-centered and are not willing to open up. So what now? Well i can tell you guys out there, many of you GLs and CGLs can be a better CC than i am, so does that mean i should just quit and step down? No, nothing in this world is perfect. Like what was said, yes everyone have a mind of their own. Not everyone leader is the same. But if you are to work in a team, you have to start learning to talk to one another and understand one another. How much do you guys know each other from the very first training until now? I can tell you guys straight into the face, unless you are classmates, lecture mates or whatever you call that, you guys DO NOT KNOW each other at all. Simple things like course, birthdays, likes and dislikes and so on. You guys got to know it all to work better in a team. Now, people are flaming the tagboard, is a WWW consider a privacy web? its called, WORLD WIDE WEB for a reason. Yes and its no longer private. As i've said, talk to us or talk to your CGLs about your problems and NEVER even DEMAND a solution. I believe my committee members and i will be able to tell you what is best for you. Just talk to me the next training, i hope i don't have to make people talk. After saying all this, i hope you guys will stop putting your anger before you and start thinking through about yourself. People always POINT FINGERS and neglect the fact that the wrong is actually themselves. Simple words like "Sorry" works wonders. "A good leader is not how well he work with the best people, but how he work with people to bring out the best in them. He may not be the best, but to his people, he is." Having said all that, i hope you guys will spend time reading thru. I hope it helps. Take care people and good luck for exams.
